A personal note from Sylvia
I’m so delighted that I get the chance to revisit one of the most mystical and enchanting places on the planet next year—Ireland. And the best part is: You’re invited to come along!
This breathtaking and picturesque country is brimming with magnificent sites to behold—from captivating stone churches and historic high crosses, to ancient abbeys and charming castles—all with their own stories to tell.
One of the reasons why I enjoy visiting Ireland is that this breathtaking country has an environment of mysticism with its many historic ruins and castles and its rich history and culture. It has been called the land that remains “in the mist” and “between the worlds.” And I can understand why. You see, I believe that Ireland is very conducive for spiritual beings and ghosts because of the numerous homes that have existed here for many centuries. Plus, they have a very moist climate, which conducts electrical energy, and thus can be helpful in bringing about ghostly manifestations.
And the funniest thing—I’ve discovered ghosts on every continent, but none seemed as happy and content in their daily chores as they were in the Emerald Isle! That’s probably because everyone who visits Ireland, whether from this world or the next, is greeted by the warmest and most endearing residents and townsfolk you may ever meet!
Let me tell you what happened when I visited Ireland in 1977. I was riding in a horse-drawn jaunting car in a beautiful park near one of the lakes of Killarney (one of the gorgeous cities we’ll visit on this trip) when I happened to catch something out of the corner of my eye. Lo and behold, it was a fairy—with wings and all!—on an oleander bush. She was so beautifully formed, had golden hair, and wore a wonderful blue gossamer dress. I blinked and looked again; she didn’t pay me any mind, but instead went gently from leaf to leaf and flower to flower.
“I just saw a fairy,” I screamed at the driver.
“Of course,” he replied. “They’re all over the place.”
My second husband, who was with me at the time, was of Irish descent and used to tease me about my lack of belief in little people, fairies, and the like; I’d always tell him that he was nuts. I looked over and saw this “I told you so” grin on his face . . . and promptly whacked him one.
During another more recent trip to Ireland, I visited Dublin (another breathtaking city we’ll discover together). While catching a quick bite to eat at one of the restaurants in my hotel, I was greeted by a female ghost.
“My name is Maryann Sullivan, and I’m glad you can see me,” she said. Apparently, she resided at the hotel from 1772 until she died of tuberculosis several years later.
Later, I grabbed my waiter. “You know, you have a ghost in here.”
“Yes, we’ve all seen her,” he answered matter-of-factly.
Together on this amazing adventure to Ireland, we’ll visit some of my favorite things to see: one of the most illuminated manuscripts in the world written around the year 800 AD that contains the four gospels; the finest high cross in all of Ireland bearing biblical carvings from the Old and New Testament; the peaceful area of natural beauty where renowned writers such as Wordsworth and (my personal favorite) Tennyson, sought spiritual inspiration; and so much more.
And of course, our itinerary wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the Blarney Castle in County Cork. Lord knows, I’m never at a loss for words. But I’d be happy to watch the rest of you kiss the legendary stone so you can be endowed with the “gift of gab”!
After we return from exploring some of these mesmerizing new areas and pursuing our own spiritual journeys, we can all sit down together for a series of intimate lectures where I’ll further discuss these mystical places and answer some of your personal questions.
